Arundhati of Grade 8 Participated in the International Youth Cultural Festival, July 2019, Chengdu (People’s Republic of China) – An exciting travelogue.

Arundhati of Grade 8 at a tender age of twelve was fortunate to be a part of the cultural delegation from India to represent the country at the International Youth festival at CHENGDU (People’s Republic of China) which was held from 24 to 30 July 2019, mentored by their Guru Smt. Shubha Dhananjay from Natyantharanga dance school from Bengaluru.

The team included artistes between the ages of 10 to 26 years and Arundhati was the youngest to qualify. The dance troop driven by the cultural ambassador from India (Guru Shubha Dhananjay) encompassed dance artistes from all over Karnataka who practiced vigorously for over 3 months before the event. The team put forth all the choreographed sequences to the audience at ‘Balbhavan’ at “Namma Bengaluru”, before they flew to China for the cultural festival.

Dance was a pretext but it was a lot of learning in terms of making newer acquaintances, sticking to schedules with self-discipline and a lot of self-introspection time for the sishyas amidst sightseeing. There were representations from over 30 countries on this huge cultural platform.
