Achievers: Sports and Activities - June 2026



Tejas Arun of Grade 9E secured First Prize in the Poetic Slam Competition at the Cultural Fest organised by the Vishwavidyapeeth Group of Schools on 27 June 2026 at the Takshashila Campus.

Abigail Verma of Grade 4C won the Consolation Prize in the Masquerade Fancy Dress Competition for her impressive character portrayal.

P. Venyashree of Grade 10F has won a Silver Medal in the 1500m Freestyle event and a Bronze Medal in the 200m Breaststroke event at the NRJ State Swimming Championship (Mock), held at the Dravid Padukone Centre of Sports Excellence from 29 to 31 May 2026.

Teneti Avyukth Reddy of Grade 7 represented Team Karnataka at the Under-15 Sub-Junior National Boxing Championship, held from 23 to 29 June 2026 at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab.

Avyukth delivered an impressive performance, advancing to the quarter-finals, where he competed against a strong opponent from Manipur.

D.C. Sidesh of Grade 10E participated in the National-level Kickboxing Championship 2026, organized by the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation and the Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association, held from 17 to 21 June 2026 at Indore Public School, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

He secured Gold Medals in Light Contact and Point Fight, and a Bronze Medal in Kick Light. The championship featured approximately 2,500 athletes from 23 states across India, with Karnataka securing 4th place overall.

Based on this outstanding performance, he has qualified for the 2026 Youth World Kickboxing Championship to be held in Venice, Italy.

We are pleased to share that Tushar Agarwalla (Grade 7C) delivered an outstanding performance at the 2nd Grand RCC International FIDE Rated Chess Festival, held in Mangalore from 27 March to 1 April 2026

His achievements include:
- 7th Prize (Under-13) – 33rd RCC International FIDE Rated Classical Tournament
- 3rd Prize (Under-13) – 34th RCC International FIDE Rated Rapid Tournament
- Cash Prize of ₹1,000 in the 1551–1700 Rating Category – 35th RCC
  International FIDE Rated Blitz A Tournament

- 4th Prize (Under-13) – 37th RCC International FIDE Rated Blitz B Tournament

Tushar also recorded impressive rating gains, earning 36 FIDE ELO points in Classical and 163 FIDE ELO points in Blitz events. We congratulate him on his achievements and wish him continued success.

Daksha Agarwalla has achieved notable success in recent FIDE-rated chess tournaments. She was awarded a Trophy and Merit Certificate at the 2nd MAHE BLR All-India Open FIDE Rated Blitz Chess Tournament 2026.

At the 2nd Grand RCC International FIDE Rated Chess Festival (Mangalore, 27 March - 1 April 2026), she secured:
- 4th Prize (Under-11) – 33rd RCC International FIDE Rated Classical Tournament
- 3rd Prize (Under-11) – 37th RCC International FIDE Rated Blitz B Tournament

Daksh Nataraj Naik of Grade 6 delivered an outstanding performance at the Karnataka Swimming Association Mock Swim Meet 2026, held at Kensington Swimming Pool, Halsuru, Bengaluru,
on 5 June 2026.

Daksh achieved the following accolades
- Silver Medal in the 100m Butterfly event
- Bronze Medal in the 100m Freestyle event
- Bronze Medal in the 200m Individual Medley (IM) event

Raagavi Pillai of Grade 6 has secured 9th rank in a national-level contest, showcasing exceptional talent, dedication, and academic excellence. In recognition of her achievement, she was awarded a cash prize of ₹21,566 and a scholarship worth ₹34,891.

D.C. Sidesh of Grade 10 has been selected to represent Karnataka in the National Kickboxing Championship 2026 after winning two Gold Medals at the 6th State Level Kickboxing Championship held in Mysuru on 24 May 2026.

He will compete in the Sub-Junior category at the National Championship in Indore,
Madhya Pradesh,
from 17–21 June 2026. The event also serves as a qualifier for the Youth World Kickboxing Championship 2026 in Venice, Italy.
