Advance Fundamental Activities - Activity on Hygiene

With the motive of bringing in the awareness on cleanliness and hygiene, an activity was conducted on 8th July where children were given toiletry items like tooth brush, paste, shampoo, towel, comb etc. They spoke 3 sentences on each and were empowered by the concept to adapt them in their daily life. |

Advance Fundamental Activities - Wool Activity

Wool Activity was conducted on 11th July and the theme of the activity was Human Body. Children learnt about the Human Body Parts and their functions and were highly interactive throughout the activity. They enjoyed the activity by sticking black wool as hair and got reinforced with the other parts of the body by drawing them. |

Linguistic Club Grade 7B – Writing down multiple words using a single word
23rd March 11
JHS, Grades 7A & 7B had a “Linguistic Club” activity. Facilitators had the words HOSPITALITY and MANAGEMENT and the students had to extract as many words from these as possible. Each word gave up to seven smaller words and the students had a great time beating each other to get more number of words. Another activity was getting maximum words starting with ‘At’ and ‘Bu’; and making rhyming words with ca, ce, ch, ci, cu, co, cr. Parts of speech were also recalled. |

Young Engineers Grade 5 - Structure of Helicopter
23rd March 11
JHS, Grade 5 had a Club Activity of “Young Engineers” to structure a Helicopter. Its each functions and working process were explained to the students. Later, they had a practical experience in the ground with the subject. Students enjoyed a lot and had fun with it. The discussion class was very informative and full of creativity for the students. |

Young Engineers Grade 8 - Hover Craft
23rd March 11
JHS, Grade 8 had a Club Activity of “Young Engineers” to structure a model that moves on both land and Water. The model’s structural parts, its functions and working process were explained. Students used styropor as the base of the model; motor & propeller were set to the base and made a hole on the styropor such that the propeller can be fixed. Now the battery was connected the motor and the entire model started floating. Students enjoyed this activity and had fun altogether. |

Eco Club Grade 5 - To collect information on Soil Conservation and Erosion.
23rd March 11
JHS, Grade 5 had a Club Activity of “Eco Club” to collect information on soil conservation and erosion to develop independent writing and resource making. Children were taken to the Library and books were referred to collect information about soil erosion, conservation and control soil from surface runoff. Children were very enthusiastic to collect the information and learnt totally a new topic. |

Holi with flowers at Fundamentals

As a part of Holi / Yellow Day Celebration at Fundamentals JHS, all the children and facilitators came in Yellow colour attire. There was a special assembly where a teacher narrated a story on Holi. Children were taught rhymes and songs on Yellow colour. The classes were decorated with flowers got by children. Later children played holi using the same flowers and wished each other. |

Fruit Salad Making

The children at JHS Fundamentals, with the help of their facilitators, prepared a delicious fruits salad by mixing various fruits. Fruits names and its importance for good health were discussed in the class. Later, the entire Fundamental kids were served with the salad, which they found very tasty and enjoyed the activity of preparing “Fruits Salad”. |

Children of Advanced & Basic Fundamentals were taken to visit the Planetarium on 17th Feb 2011. They were briefed about the Solar system. They were curious and asked many questions related to the Solar system. They also saw few pictures displayed in the Planetariums & many of them recognized almost all the planets. |

It was a Pink day celebration & a Doll’s party at fundamentals on 21st Jan 2011. Children came in pink attire along with their favorite doll/toy. They had innovative games, craft activity, stories, rhymes, dance and teacher-student talk in the class. Children were served strawberry ice cream and were given a take home craft made by teachers. |
